Many of you know that I had a little girl once. Her name was Mia, and she was the most beautiful little dachshund ever born. Her life was cut short by a coyote when she was just 2 years old. Ever since then I have had a serious vendetta against them. So when DJ started talking about buying a gun (I am not much of a gun person), the only way he was able to talk me into it was when he said that he was going to avenge Mia's death with it.
I can't believe that he actually did! It may not be the one that took Mia from me, but any coyote will do. This one was just lurking around DJ's sister's house at about 9:30am. So, DJ grabbed his gun, tracked it down and shot it!
Heidi's boys were pretty excited to see it hanging from the tree in the front yard when they came home from school.
So much for the coyotes living far far away in Texas! (Jake is terrified of coyotes for some reason, so in order to assure him that they couldn't get him we told him that they lived far far away in Texas. I guess the truth is out!)

Oh my gosh, I can't believe DJ shot a coyote and hung it from a tree! Part of me wants to be sad for the coyote but I remember when one ate Mia so I am glad you finally got you peace back from the whole situation. I think it's hilarious that he was able to convince you to let him get a gun by telling you he was going to avenge Mia's death, and actually did it! I think we'll be getting a gun in the near future. I hope we don't ever have to use it thogh, even to kill a coyote.
Oh, and the coyote totally looks like a piniata hanging from the tree. You should have filled him with candy and let Jake have his way with him. It would have been a happy ending for all.
I can't believe how alike our husbands are! I thought of Nate the entire time I read that! The hanging coyote from the tree was pretty funny! I'll have to show this post to Nate!

that is so sad about your cute dog, I remember when that happened!! Dogs are the sweetest, and losing them is SO HARD! RIP Mia :(

I cant believe DJ shot a coyote! It makes me think of when Jake tried to tell us on skype and it sounded like he was speaking Japanese! haha That DJ though! What a dad saving Jake from the coyotes and avenging mia's death!
Finally, those stinking coyotes get what they deserve for taking Mia from us! She was the cutest, I was so sad when she died.
Gross! Gave me a good laugh, though! I'm sure Heidi loved having a dead animal hanging in her front yard! Love the "to avenge Mia's death" bit - so DJ!

I hope it wasn't my husband the one who got DJ to like guns. I don't really like them and Brett is starting to be obsess about them.
